Our Domestic Violence Course Teachers
Alexis Anderson – Victim Services Supervisor at the Salvation Army Carr P. Collins Social Services Center, Dallas, TX
• Education: BA in Social Work
• Experience: Nearly 20 years working with domestic violence victims. Former Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate Coordinator.
• Role: Instructor for Session 1
• Expertise: Training domestic violence advocates and volunteers in safety planning and 24-hour crisis hotline calls for victims.
Cicely Adrianna
• Role: Instructor for Session 2
• Expertise: Specific focus and background tailored to domestic violence advocacy, based on session content.
LaTesha Van – Director of Shelter, Safe Haven of Tarrant County
• Education: BA in Business Leadership
• Experience: Over 5 years of professional experience working in domestic violence shelters. Responsible for training advocates and volunteers for crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Role: Instructor for Session 3
• Expertise: Crisis hotline management, safety planning, shelter operations, and advocate training.
Latasha Williams – Cheryl’s Voice
• Role: Instructor for Session 4
• Expertise: Focused on areas of victim advocacy and recovery in relation to domestic violence.
Cheryl’s Voice – Cheryl’s Voice Organization
• Role: Instructor for Session 5
• Expertise: Specializing in advocacy, education, and support for domestic violence survivors.
Additional Information:
• All instructors have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in domestic violence shelters.
• They have trained domestic violence advocates and volunteers in safety planning and 24-hour crisis hotline management.
